This Privacy Policy explains how BasaBots ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BasaBots EQL application and the website at basabots.com (together, the "Service"). We are based in California, USA, and serve customers under U.S. law. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
The short version: we collect as little as possible. We don't sell your personal information, we don't track you across the web, and your app settings stay on your own PC.
1. Information We Collect
- Account & billing. Your email address and subscription status. Payments and card details are handled by Stripe, so we never see or store your full card number, and we do not store passwords.
- License activation. To enforce the one-machine license and a genuine one-time free trial, the app sends a hashed hardware fingerprint of your PC to our server. We store the hashes, not raw hardware identifiers, and never your personal files.
- Service telemetry. Periodic "is this install still active" heartbeats tied to your license, plus basic, security-related server logs (such as IP address and timestamps) used to operate and protect the Service.
- Community drop data (optional). If you opt in, the app uploads aggregated, anonymous loot and spawn observations only. These uploads are not linked to your account, email, character, or hardware; the server records only counts of how much data of each kind was contributed.
- Support. Information you provide when you contact us.
We do not knowingly collect government IDs, precise geolocation, biometric data, or other sensitive personal information.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- To process subscriptions and manage your license and free trial;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- To respond to your support requests; and
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, including Stripe (payments), and our hosting and infrastructure providers such as Supabase and Netlify;
- For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of BasaBots, our users, or the public; and
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Cookies & the Website
The website uses cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary for the site to function and remember your basic preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate website traffic. GA4 sets
cookies (_ga and _ga_*) so we can count unique visits and
see which pages people read. IP addresses are anonymized by default. You can opt
out at any time by installing the
Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
or by enabling Global Privacy Control / Do Not Track in your browser.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. When you close your account or request deletion, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, tax and transaction records held by our payment processor).
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashing hardware identifiers and relying on a PCI-compliant payment processor. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you;
- Delete personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, though we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law; and
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
In the past 12 months we have collected the following CCPA categories: identifiers (such as email and IP address), commercial information (subscription status), and internet or other electronic activity (hashed device fingerprint and service telemetry). We use this information for the business purposes described above and do not sell it. California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code §1798.83), we do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at sales@basabots.com. We will verify your request using your account email and respond within the timeframes required by law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version; material changes will be posted on this page.
